Mike delivers strategic guidance on a variety of issues including corporate governance, activism defense, investor engagement, strategic communications, and executive and director compensation.

Prior to joining ZMH, Mike was part of Morgan Stanley’s Activism Defense Team specializing in governance-related issues tied to various corporate events including shareholder activism, hostile M&A, IPOs, proxy voting, and other special situations. He developed significant advisory expertise as a Vice President and Managing Advisor for ISS Corporate Solutions where he was the sector lead for US Banks, Health Care, and Consumer Goods, and specialized in financial conglomerates, investment banks, BDCs, and publicly traded funds. He also led efforts to develop niche practice areas for Sustainability, Compensation Design, and M&A. Prior to serving three years with ICS, Mike spent three proxy seasons as an Associate for the US Financials team of ISS Research.

Before joining ISS, Mike helped to form a start-up venture fund targeting failed banks after spending several years in banking with roles at Citi and UBS.

Mike holds a Master’s in Finance and an MBA from The George Washington University School of Business and a B.S. in Business Management from Cornell University.
